Continuing a tradition of innovation and quality, the Douglas Green winemaking team is dedicated to producing Cape Wine at its best by managing and controlling the process from the vineyard to the bottle to retain true varietal fruit flavours.
Our quest is to source fruit from only the best vineyards and growers, from the best-suited regions for each variety to create our distinctive fruit-driven signature style wines. By selecting and sourcing grapes from the broad boundaries of the Cape winelands, we achieve consistent, high quality standards, vintage after vintage.
The grapes were fermented on skins for 7 days at 28°C until dry. The young wine was matured on French oak staves for three months during which time the wine picked up its delicate chocolate and smokey characters that compliment the rich fruit flavours.

Tasting Notes
This is a full, round red with a lot of structure, though very friendly on the palate. Aromas of delicate chocolate and smoke combine very well with the dark berry flavours of the wine. The palate is full with soft, sweeter tannins.
